Cubby House

Cubby House

The mat of a trampoline makes for a great cubby house roof, and gives even the youngest of builders a solid frame to begin and hold up their project.

If available a drop sheet from painting will make the cubby house rain ready.

Walls can be made of any available equipment cardboard boxes or sheets or wooden boards or almost anything else.

The larger your trampoline the more walls you will need to enclose it, although we found that a partially closed trampoline was good enough for lots of imaginative play, as well as a cozy spot outside in the rain.

We used our exsisting play structures as walls.

Lastly always do your own risk assessment before following the advice of a random blog on the internet. One thing to consider with this activity is that when jumping on a trampoline you use some of the space under it, so be sure not to have anyone jumping on top while anyone is playing underneath, and check for furniture underneath that you may jump into before jumping on top again.
